About me

I’m Henrik Sonnergård, currently living in Lidköping, Sweden. I’d like to think that I’m curious by nature, which has led to me having more hobbies than I can maintain, and some interesting professional work along the way. While web and graphic design has been a passion for the majority of my life, before I transitioned back to the world of Software Engineering, I worked for more than half a decade with Brake NVH Cycle Driving Testing for Volvo Cars.

Since 2021, I work as a Design Engineer and Design Systems Tech Lead for Sirvoy. My core expertise sits right between Design and Engineering, hence the (still) niche job title. I am as comfortable in Figma and the Affinity suite as I am in VS Code and the terminal. My passion areas are Accessibility, Typography, HTML and CSS. Words like “semantics”, “context”, “structure” and “purpose” would end up on my top 10 words. I really love the Web, and the power that lies within standards, and working with the grain of those technologies.
